I was using this text in our homeschool, and ordered this for my daughter's Kindle Freetime account. There are more stories in this Kindle edition. I looked through our hard copy of this book printed by Beautiful Feet, and the editors only used some of the stories. So I am not sure if I will leave it on her Kindle since she is 7. I trust the BF editors who are selling this book for character development, and I don't have time to read the whole Kindle version. I did read the Jack O'Lantern witch, which was not in the BF edition, and aside from it accounting some Salem witch trial superstitions, it seemed like a fine story of a child showing moral courage not to lie. If you are on a budget, this option is cheaper than BF and you will get more stories. You just may want to read ahead of your child so you can discuss any of the historically political issues.Product details

Boys and Girls of Colonial Days Carolyn Sherwin Bailey 9781117589244 Books Reviews
Nice to be able to use as a kindle edition. edition was readable and well done.
I didn't realize that this book was for kids, but I enjoyed it anyway. The stories and characters are so adorable. It would definitely be educational for children.
A little flat for the kids to listen to, but good stories.
Fantastic short stories about children in colonial days. I read it to my kids and gifted it to a local schoolteacher, who was thrilled to use it for her class.
This book was a disappointment. Inaccurate history and a complete waste of money.
I read this book to my six-year-old daughter as part of her study of early American history. There are many stories of courageous, hard-working, and quick-thinking colonial children that captured my daughter's attention. We both enjoyed the story of the little girl who made lots of soap that saved her from being kidnapped by an Indian, as well as the boy who escaped death with a young George Washington. This book makes a great addition to a homeschool or family library.
What have we lost? What have the collectivists taken from us? Here it is. Children, burying silver before it is confiscated. Kids, asking God to win the battle and give them back their father. A father? God? Kids that work and are devoted to their family and country? Kids that understand George Washington to be a great man? Kids that do all sorts of "unsafe" things, and still somehow survive without State assistance? Buy this book. Remember our heritage, and pass it on.
